Community Engagement
HADC has begun a new initiative that focuses on ways to improve our community and help our fellow residents. Hopefully, these activities will also allow us to reach people with whom we don't normally engage.
June 2026: Food Drive
The Hempfield Food Pantry has requested our help with an ingathering of food for June. This is the time of year when kids-in-need are out of school and no longer have the breakfasts and lunches that the school provides.
Here are the specific items they need:
Canned peaches
Breakfast cereals
Pancake mix
Boxed pasta
One pound bag of white rice
One pound bag of dried beans or lentils
Canned potatoes
Canned tomato soup
You can bring these items to the June HADC meeting or the May Reading Liberally meeting.
