Damon Myers (D)
Having lived abroad and in three other states, Damon Myers has decided that East Hempfield Township is his ideal, permanent home. He moved here from Brooklyn, NY five years ago with his husband.
Damon is running for Township Supervisor to ensure that local laws and policies promote equality for housing, jobs, policing, and opportunity for East Hempfield Township’s women, black & brown residents, and LGBTQ community. His platform is equality, transparency, and the environment. Damon believes in smart land stewardship and public health policy that are science-based.
Damon works remotely as the Associate Director of Analytics and Population Health Initiatives for Mount Sinai Health System in New York City. In that role, he manages a team of ten and oversees large-scale, complex, and cross-functional projects. Locally, he volunteers for the Red Cross and is a member of Saint James Episcopal Church.
If elected, Damon hopes to engage the community to ensure everyone knows how their tax dollars are spent and everyone has a voice in setting priorities for the township’s future. He believes strongly that local government should be more representational, inclusive, and responsible.
