Jennifer Applegate (D)
Jennifer has been a resident of the Hempfield School District since 2016. Her daughter is a sophomore at Hempfield High School. Jennifer’s experience both as a parent and as a counselor have convinced her that school board directors should have an educational and professional background that qualifies them to make informed decisions regarding students in our community.
Jennifer is a certified trauma-informed counselor with two decades of experience working with children, adolescents, and families. If elected, she would bring her considerable education and experience to bear in board decisions.
In order to best serve the diverse community, Jennifer feels strongly that the school board should also reflect that diversity. She believes there is no place for politics on school boards and that decisions should be made with a focus on what is best for all students in the community.
