Amy Moreno (D)
A resident of Lancaster County since 2006, Amy Moreno has lived in the Hempfield School District for 11 years. Her son is enrolled in the district. She is a former English professor and dean at Franklin & Marshall College.
Amy is running for school board because she believes the board should represent more fully the district’s diverse and complex community and its changing needs in a global society. She wants the district to make students’ and teachers’ physical and mental health a priority in all decisions.
As a parent in the district, Amy plans to bring a fresh, innovative, and informed community perspective to the board to help achieve its vision – that a high quality, public education be accessible to all students.
As a former educator and skilled communicator, Amy believes strongly that collaboration between teachers, families, and neighbors is necessary to build a community where everyone thrives in public school.
